our code of conduct: PLEASE TREAT EVERYONE WITH CARE AND RESPECT
Community lies at the heart of all we do at Skeleton Key, and we believe that craft beer — and the world at large — is at its best when it blends a variety of palates and perspectives. This is one of the many reasons why we aim to foster an inclusive environment in which individual differences are recognized, appreciated, and respected.
We also believe that “craft beer is for everyone,” but acknowledge that there is work to be done within our industry and our communities to make that a reality. By maintaining a culture of inclusivity and acceptance, we hope to ensure Skeleton Key is a safe space for all people, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, age, ability, physical appearance, or any other aspect of a person’s identity.
It is our privilege to hold space for those who wish to gather and responsibly enjoy fresh, locally made craft beer without discrimination or harassment of any kind. And as such, it is our duty to make all members of our staff and community feel equally protected from mistreatment.
Your safety—and that of our staff, vendors, and visitors—matters to us. We will not tolerate hate speech, gender-based discrimination, sexual harassment, racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, or any other forms of bullying or belittling in or on our premises. Anyone entering our premises is expected to:
-
Respect the physical and mental boundaries of others
-
Refrain from behavior or speech that may cause harm
-
Respect our staff and their judgment
We reserve the right to cut off, kick out, or ban anyone found to be violating our policies regarding harassment and discrimination. If, at any time during your visit to Skeleton Key, someone makes you feel unsafe or unwelcome, please let our staff know so they can take swift and decisive action.
We value collaboration and know we are stronger when we work together to learn and grow. We welcome you to inform us of any past instances of feeling unsafe in the brewery or to provide us with any suggestions of how we can become a more inclusive space – email our founders at info[at]skeletonkeybrewery.com. All communication of this nature will be treated confidentially.
