Wondering which yeast is best suited to the style of beer you’re brewing? Want to learn how to create a healthy yeast starter, reuse yeast from previous batches or propagate larger quantities of yeast from a single vial? Whether you’re new to homebrewing or looking to up your game, this class will be indispensable in taking your craft to the next level.
Fermentation Technologist Eymard Freire will take you through various yeast strains and the characteristics they impart in finished beer, and show you how to make the most of your yeast to achieve ideal fermentation every time. Must be 21+ to register and attend.
About the instructor:
Eymard is a graduate of the World Brewing Academy’s International Diploma in Brewing Technology Program (a partnership between Siebel Institute and Doemens Academy in Munich) and studied brewing microbiology and microscopy at University of Wisconsin. Previously, he has held head brewer roles at Flossmoor Station Brewery and Prairie Krafts Brewing, and has also worked as a brewer at RAM Restaurant and Brewery and Carson’s Brewery.
