Ah, Germany, the land of “reinheitsgebot.” Also known as the German Purity Law, reinheitsgebot is a 500-year-old law that limits what ingredients can be used to make German beer. Of course, it hasn’t limited Bavarian brewers’ artistry, which is clearly demonstrated in the numerous styles that we enjoy today.
In this 2-hour class, expert beer judge and author Marty Nachel will reveal the beauty in simplicity that is German beer. Get ready to taste six examples of various German beer styles as you learn how to identify their unique characteristics.
