Like beer? Like making stuff? Then you’ll like making beer. Or maybe you already know you like making beer from extract but want to learn the alchemy behind all-grain. Or maybe you just need something to do for 5-6 hours on Sunday. If any of these scenarios apply, then check out this single-day class!
We’ll be going through the entire all-grain brewing process, using homebrew equipment that you can make yourself! Over the course of 5 hours or so, we’ll mill, mash, boil and chill together (though it’ll all be pretty chill), and when we’re not tasting, smelling, measuring or cleaning stuff, you’ll learn how to make a mash tun and immersion chiller from items you can get at the hardware store (we’ll give you an equipment list to take with you). Class includes a light lunch.
A couple of weeks later, you can join us to see what bottling/kegging the final product looks like, too. (Note that the bottling/kegging session is in the evening on a weekday) Sign up here
Must be 21+ to take this class! We cannot process refunds for cancellations less than 3 days prior to class.
About the instructor:
Emily Slayton is a self-taught homebrewer of 8+ years and one of the owners of Skeleton Key Brewery. Her favorite beers to brew involve botanical adjuncts such as chrysanthemum, sage, chanterelle mushrooms, staghorn sumac, peppercorns and roasted dandelion root…but not all at once. She believes that simpler is better, and balance is everything.
